Flights are booked

All the flights are now booked.

About a week ago I bought the flights for my Baruntse trip. Also I checked from Vaiska that the Grossglockner flights are also booked. So, there’s no turning back now 🙂

Ready to board

For the Grossglockner trip we have the outbound flight Helsinki-Munich on 02.08.2011 and return flight will be on 11.08.2011. As mentioned, we will have rental minivans to transport us from Munich to Grossglockner and back. All this means that I will be spending my 30th birthday somewhere on the Grossglockner walls… or perhaps in a mountain hut having a birthday Apfelstrudel.

The Baruntse expedition is scheduled for 12.10.-14.11.2011. I will have the outboud flight Helsinki-Delhi (via Istanbul) on 09.10.2011 and it will arrive at Delhi Airport early in the morning (around 3am) the next day. Few hours after landing I have a flight from Delhi to Kathmandu and I should arrive there before noon. I chose to have a day or two extra before the trip so that I will have plenty of time to sort out all the missing gear I will still have to buy (at least I will be needing big’n’bad high altitude boots). After the expedition I have I flight on 14.11.2011 afternoon from Kathmandu to Kolkata where I will be meeting my wife after more than a mont apart. She will have flown there in that same day via Istanbul and Delhi.

In Kolkata (or Calcutta as some might say) we will have one or two nights rest and then we’ll head over to see some places around India for two weeks. We have seen quite a plenty of places all around India on our previous trips, but we have still few places left we would like to see. Eventually we will end up in Mumbai to do some shopping. Our return flight will leave early in the morning of 28.11.2011 and it will also be via Istanbul. We should arrive home some time early evening.

Then… it will be back to work the next morning 😀 Who needs any easy landing back to daily schedule….
